ZWO Introduces AMS Harmonic Equatorial Mount

Well-known camera manufacturer ZWO is taking pre-orders on a new astrophotography mount. ZWO’s new AMS Harmonic Equatorial Mount weighs in at 5kg and has a claimed load capacity of 13kg with no counterweight, and 20kg using the counterweight. The mount can be operated in either equatorial mode or in alt-az for tracking fast-moving objects. Guiding accuracy is claimed to be 0.5 to 0.8 arcseconds with very low periodic error (PE) that is measured and provided with each mount. The mount features a quick latitude adjustment and laser polar aligning¬† The mount can be controlled with apps using its built-in wi-fi or with the provided hand controller, and is ASIAIR-compatible.
