Unistellar is now taking preorders on the new eQuinox 2 smart telescope. The fully automated 4.5″ f/4 go-to telescope captures, processes, and displays 6.2 Mpx color images of planets and deep sky objects with a single click. Along with image stacking, the eQuinox 2 features processing to reduce the effects of light pollution for observing from urban locations. The Unistellar app allows for full control from a smartphone or tablet and includes a catalog of 37 million stars with locations and information on more than 5000 objects. The eQuinox 2 uses the phone’s or tablet’s GPS along with field detection software to align with the sky. eQuinox 2 owners can participate in the Unistellar Community, which includes 10,000 telescope users and gathers data for professional research projects.
