SkyWatcher has announced the Star Adventurer GTI, a portable, full go-to equatorial mount. The Star Adventurer GTI can be controlled via wi-fi with a smartphone or with the optional SyncScan hand controller. Sidereal, solar, and lunar drive rates are pre-programmed. Additional interfaces are included for USB, autoguider (ST4), and DSLR shutter control. The new mount has a load capacity of 11 pounds (5kg) and can be powered by eight AA batteries or a 12-volt power supply. A V-style dovetail, 3/8-inch tripod mount, and illuminated polar alignment scope are built in. The mount weighs 5.7 pounds (2.6kg) and is 9 inches (23cm) long.
