Celestron has released their 8” and 10” StarSense Dobsonians, the latest additions to their StarSense family of telescopes. These instruments leverage the power of a smartphone and the Celestron StarSense app to take observers on a guided tour of the night sky to find planets, nebulae, galaxies, and double stars. Celestron’s patented StarSense sky recognition technology uses the computing power of the user’s smartphone to analyze star patterns overhead and calculate its position in real time. The app also automatically generates a list of objects currently visible in the night sky, making these telescopes ideal for beginning observers. The Celestron StarSense Dobsonians feature manual altazimuth mounts with dual-axis slow-motion controls that make it easy to follow the on-screen direction arrows to the desired target. They also include a dock for the smartphone (sold separately), a 2” Crayford focuser, and a red-dot finder.

MSRP: $799.95 (8”) and $1099.95 (10”)
