Astro-Physics’ new Mach2GTO Universal Robotic mount is now in production. Designed for portability and ease of use in the field, the 42-pound Mach2GTO includes Astro-Physics’ Universal Robotic for automated operation. Absolute encoders keep track of the axis positions at all times, allowing for daytime alignment in the field. Clutches allow for balancing without taking the worm gears out of mesh, and for manual use. Custom tracking rates are available in both axes for asteroids, comets, and satellites. The Mach2GTO can run on a 12V battery, or a power supply of up to 24V. Astro-Physics describes the Mach2GTO as ideal for 6-7” refractors, 8-12” Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, and Maksutovs.
